​LED point light source usage precautions and troubleshooting methods

1. Notes:

(1) Do not connect the positive and negative poles of the power output to the positive and negative poles of the LED point light source in reverse or short-circuit them, otherwise the IC of the point light source will burn out and the signal will not be transmitted. (Refer to the full-color controller signal wiring diagram)

(2) Do not connect the wrong power supply. The rated voltage of the LED point light source produced by our company is DC5V/DC12V/DC 24V (if directly connected to 220V, the point light source will be completely burned out. If a product with a rated power of 5V is connected to a 12V product, most of the LED point light sources and control chips will be burned out.)

(3) Be sure to disconnect the controller power supply when inserting or removing the SD card, otherwise the SD card may be easily burned.

(4) When making characters, the hole diameter of the LED point light source is a standard 12mm. If the hole diameter is too small, do not force the lamp in, as this may cause the lamp pin to become unsolderable and loose, resulting in a dull color of the lamp and the inability of the IC to transmit.

2. Causes and solutions:

1. LED point light source is not controlled: Phenomenon: The point light source is not lit or partially lit but there is no animation effect

Troubleshooting methods: (1) Check the controller - first check whether the controller switch is turned on and whether it reads the card (normal card reading is 1 light on and 1 light off); (2) Check the signal input direction of the LED point light source. Generally, the signal input direction of the point light source is 4 lines, white and green for signal, and red and white for power; (3) Check the wiring problem. The conventional products of the controller output port are GND-white DAT-green line connection (4) If it is correct, you can turn off the power of the controller switch for about 2 minutes and then turn it on again. 

2. Some LED point light sources are out of control: Phenomenon: If the animation effect of the previous point light source is normal, the lights below will have no animation effect starting from a certain point light source.

Troubleshooting: (1) Determine that the IC (or input line) of this LED point light source or the output line of the previous point light source is broken, and replace the light or the previous light;

(2) The number of point light sources written in the program is insufficient. Ask the business personnel how many points the program is designed to have (for example, if the test program is 100 points, then the LED point light sources after 100 points will be partially lit but there will be no animation effect).

3. Animation disorder: Phenomenon: The picture moves, but without pattern or partially without pattern.

Troubleshooting: Check whether the lamp is consistent with the designed wiring diagram. Please adjust the lamp connection according to the drawing, or re-enter the actual lamp arrangement and connection diagram into the computer to re-program.

4. The screen will shake: Phenomenon: The animation appears normal but the screen will flicker, or the front part of the lights are normal, but the back lights will shake. Troubleshooting: (1) Check whether the maximum connection distance between the controller and the first LED point light source is more than 8 meters (if more than 8 meters, it is necessary to add an amplifier between the controller and the LED point light source) or the signal line quality problem, use a shielded network cable instead. (2) Secondly, check whether the power supply meets the requirements (for example, a 12mm full-color point light source with a 300W/5V power supply can support about 800 point light sources) 

5. The brightness of the LED point light source is inconsistent: Troubleshooting method: The power cords at the head and tail of each group of point light sources must be connected to the power supply (it is recommended to use pure copper national standard wire 1.5 square wire material and not shorten it within 3 meters).

6. Some LED point light sources cannot display the color: Troubleshooting method: A certain color of the point light source is broken, replace the point light source.

7. After the rain, some LED point light sources cannot transmit signals: Solution: It is recommended to wrap the inlet and outlet wires of the LED point light source with insulating materials before the project is installed, so as to completely eliminate the interference of water ingress signals.
